Inspired Spaces: Cabin retreat in the Catskills
I've found a bit of time to swoon over some beautiful spaces in the NY Times this week.. this particular place is just up the road in the Catskills area a good place to go for some easy skiing.

Inspired Spaces: Modern Rustic
The 'modern rustic' probably describes our style best, clean lines of old/new all mixed together. I'm loving all these spaces below. What's your style?

Inspired Spaces: Melbourne, Australia
There's 2 things I love about the space, the mix of old and modern pieces and the colour scheme.
L: love the Japanese Carpenters Table; R: the modern Emeco chairs that go with a nice farmhouse table (personally I'll not ever get these chairs, I was lucky to have a couple loaned to us for our christmas dinner but at $415 a piece, they're really not comfortable!)

Inspired Spaces: 3 in 380sq ft
If you think our apartment is small, take a look at this space in Los Angeles, home to a mum, dad, 9mth old and a dog in 380 sq ft (approx. 35 sq.m). I don't know if we could live in this small of a space but I know Bossman and I share their philosophy about "stuff" and some of the things the parents say are quite funny.

With 19 deg weather outside on Sunday, we revisited the idea of moving to Brooklyn and headed there to check out some places.. all beautiful and felt so much like a home and ready for a big Thanksgiving dinner! I think we just enjoy checking out how others live..and with the apt below- i couldn't help but swoon over it!

Apt. Hunting: FiDi
We've been happily apt. hunting over the past 2 weekends and just checking out n'hoods that are offering recession rent prices..we're not ones to resist a good deal and visited 4 buildings in Financial District (aka FiDi) area even.. shock horror.. they have massive apartments and a handful of good deals if you're ready to move tomorrow- I will try and take some snaps of places we see over weekend but here's a peak at what they offered in FiDi.

Station Master called me...
asking for his pallet truck back... he ain't gettin it back! Sorry for lack of posts lately- I've been flat out at work!
We've been taking our own sweet time to upgrade bits and pieces of our furniture and quite happy without a coffee table for almost 2 yrs now and was v.close to saying we don't want one at all - we do like a few different styles but none that drew us in as much as this old pallet truck with iron wheels that we saw at Dumbo the other weekend- it seemed to have found us and we love it!

$300 makeover
I've been reading the NY Times daily now but possibly paying attention to the wrong parts and my eyes shift to anything to do with interiors... I'm female what can you say. So due to the rise of lay-offs here in this city, more people are spending more time at home and the question is "how do you fix up all the annoying things about your apartment on a min. budget?" and four designers took on the challenge and did so on a $300 budget. Check out the makeovers
